Serendip is for people aged 18 and over only. There is no place on this platform for any content, behaviour or user connected to the child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page explains how we enforce that and what we do when we encounter it.
The following are strictly prohibited on Serendip, without exception:
These rules apply equally to drawings, animation and AI-generated material.
Date of birth is collected at registration and applications identified as under 18 are rejected. Accepting the terms of use includes a declaration of being 18 or older.
Users may optionally verify with a short video that the profile belongs to them. Verification also prevents one person from holding multiple accounts — the primary mechanism making it harder for a rejected applicant to return under a new account.
Serendip matches you with only one person at a time. There is no bulk messaging, no browsable profile list, and no way to reach many people at once. This structurally limits grooming behaviour, which depends on reaching a large number of targets.
Photos are blurred on the match card and only come into focus once both people accept and the conversation starts. All images in a conversation pass through our servers and can be reviewed when a report is filed.
In the app: Open the chat menu, choose Report, and select “Suspected minor / child safety” as the reason. This report type is handled differently from the others: the conversation closes immediately, the other party is permanently blocked, and the record enters a priority review queue.
Outside the app: Anyone can report, with or without an account, by writing to destek@spcdev.app. Putting “CHILD SAFETY” in the subject line ensures the report is prioritised.
The identity of a reporter is never disclosed to the reported party under any circumstances.

Confirmed CSAE violations result in permanent account closure and a block on re-registration. Material relating to the violation is retained solely for the period required by our legal reporting obligations, with restricted access, and is deleted thereafter.
When we reach a finding concerning the sexual abuse of a child, we report it to the competent authorities without delay, as required by the Turkish Penal Code and Law No. 5651. Reports are made to the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor and, where relevant, to the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK).
As Serendip users may be located in other countries, reports to the relevant national reporting bodies of those countries fall within the same commitment.
